The EAGL department is happy to send a happy new year message to the world.

The world is becoming smaller and smaller as the digital technologies and information infrastructures develop. Thanks to the Internet it only takes a moment to reach anywhere in the world. In this information society, knowledge becomes crucial to understand each other. Since English is used by nearly a quarter of the world population, those of you who have thorough knowledge of English will be more likely to get a ticket to access the world. We are happy to help make your dreams come true. 

January and February are an important period to those of you who are hoping to study in our department. You might want to know more about us. Please visit this blog and also messages in the past. There you will find a lot of interesting information about students and teachers. We hope you enjoy reading them to think about what you can do with us. Lastly, we hope the year 2011 will bring all of you hope and joy. We will see you in April. 

I studied English at the University of Auckland for two semesters. It was absolutely fantastic! I was able to learn English in an extraordinary environment. I was really impressed by the beautiful sceneries. I took the photograph above when I went on a trip to South Island. It was just amazing! I saw Mt Cook, one of the world heritages. I will never forget what I felt when I saw the mountain.

In New Zealand there are a lot of interesting cultures. I stayed with my host family while I was there. And thanks to them, I had a lovely Halloween experience. Some children visited my house with special costume, and they said 'Trick or Treat!' They were very cute. I gave them some sweets. That was the experience I could not have in Japan. I am completely satisfied with my life in New Zealand! (from M.I. 2nd-year)

My life in Australia was a definitely fantastic and unforgettable experience that I had ever had. I was blessed with not only excellent teachers but also the perfect environment which allowed me to concentrate on studying English thoroughly.

In my language center, a large number of international students enjoyed studying English helping each other. It was a good opportunity for everyone to learn professional English as well as the way of thinking and living in Australia. I was so satisfied with the surroundings that I had, especially the teachers who provided individual attention and support to every single student.

In terms of my daily life, I had a wonderful time with my host family. They treated me as if I were one of the family members, and I got so much affection from them. Thanks to them, I was able to spend an enriched life there.

Overall, I experienced precious things that I had never had in Japan. What is more, I am well motivated to keep studying English and pursue my dream with passion. (from A.Y. EAGL 2nd-year)
